Job Summary: The Electrician will be responsible for installing, repairing, testing and maintaining electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings. This includes wiring, fixtures and other related components. The Electrician will ensure that all electrical works are carried out according to safety standards and regulations. Job Requirements: • A high school diploma or equivalent; • Previous experience as an electrician is preferred but not required; • Knowledge of electrical systems; • Ability to read blueprints; • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; • Good problem-solving skills; • Excellent communication skills; • Ability to abide by safety regulations; • Physical strength and agility for lifting heavy objects and working in tight spaces; • A valid driver’s license is an asset but not required. Key Responsibilities: • Installing wiring systems in homes or commercial buildings according to prescribed standards; • Inspecting existing wiring systems for potential problems or areas of improvement; • Troubleshooting malfunctioning wiring systems for the purpose of finding solutions; • Installing fixtures such as lighting fixtures or outlets according to codes or specifications provided by clients; • Replacing faulty components or parts as needed; • Testing electrical systems for proper functionality before being put into use; • Ensuring that all safety protocols are followed while on the job site.
