Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Vilnius, Lithuania. Your main task will be to ensure that these structures are safeguarded for future generations by using your knowledge of architecture, building materials, and preservation techniques. You will work closely with government agencies, contractors, and other professionals to oversee preservation projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine their preservation needs
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with contractors and other professionals to implement preservation projects
- Select appropriate building materials and techniques for restoration projects
- Manage project budgets and timelines
- Ensure that all preservation work is carried out in a safe and sustainable manner
- Monitor the progress of preservation projects and make adjustments as needed
- Conduct regular inspections of preserved structures to identify any potential issues or maintenance needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in preservation architecture or a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and historical preservation principles
- Familiarity with local regulations and guidelines for historical buildings
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
