Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef at our restaurant in Braga, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen. Your role will involve preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met, and managing kitchen staff. You will also be responsible for menu planning, inventory management, and maintaining a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Sous Chef, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating delicious dishes. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1300$ per month.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met
- Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Plan menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and best practices in food safety
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage kitchen staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Proficiency in menu planning and inventory management
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred but not required
