Foundry Technician


We are seeking a skilled Foundry Technician to join our team in Eldoret. As a Foundry Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining foundry equipment, monitoring and adjusting production processes, and ensuring quality control standards are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal casting, knowledge of foundry techniques and processes, and the ability to work with various types of metals. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1700 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain foundry equipment such as furnaces, ladles, molds, and sand mixers
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality standards are met
- Prepare molds for casting by setting cores, pouring metal, and removing finished castings
- Conduct quality control checks on finished castings to ensure they meet specifications
- Maintain inventory of materials and supplies needed for production
- Follow safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or injuries

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in metal casting preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Foundry Technician or similar role
- Knowledge of foundry techniques such as sand casting, investment casting, and die casting
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand production requirements
- Familiarity with operating various types of foundry equipment
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy objects if needed

Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with different types of metals including iron, steel, aluminum, etc.
- Understanding of metallurgy principles and how they relate to the foundry process
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during production
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
