Librarian



Our library in Malindi is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the library, including cataloging and organizing materials, assisting patrons with research and finding resources, and overseeing the library's digital presence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Catalog and organize all library materials using industry-standard systems.
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and finding resources.
- Manage the library's digital presence, including online catalog, databases, and e-resources.
- Oversee circulation processes, including checking materials in/out and managing overdue items.
- Evaluate and select new materials to add to the collection according to the library's policies.
- Plan and execute engaging programs and events for all ages to promote literacy and community engagement.
- Train volunteers and supervise their work in support of the library's operations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the library.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working in a library or similar setting preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Proficient in using technology for cataloging, research, and digital resources management.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

This is a part-time position (25 hours/week) with a salary of $1200 per month. As this position does not include accommodation, it is ideal for someone already living in Malindi or willing to relocate on their own. Biometric passport required.
