Preservation Architect


A prestigious architecture firm in Fonvieille is seeking a highly skilled Preservation Architect to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in historic preservation and restoration projects, with a strong understanding of architectural conservation and building codes. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently. The preservation architect will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, including conducting site visits, developing preservation plans, and overseeing construction work. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Preservation Architect to contribute to the preservation of Fonvieille's rich architectural heritage.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough site assessments and document existing conditions
- Develop preservation plans that meet all relevant building codes and regulations
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met
- Oversee all phases of the project, including design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
- Conduct research on historic materials and techniques for use in restoration projects
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines
- Prepare written reports documenting project progress and any issues that arise
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in historic preservation and share knowledge with the team

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Historic Preservation
- At least 5 years of experience in historic preservation projects
- Extensive knowledge of architectural conservation principles
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or other relevant software

Salary:
$1600 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location:
Fonvieille (accommodation provided if necessary)

Visa:
Must have own visa or ability to obtain one.
