Librarian



We are seeking a skilled and passionate Librarian to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing our collection of books, journals, and other resources. You will also assist library patrons in finding and accessing materials, as well as providing guidance on research methods and information literacy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cataloging new materials and maintaining accurate records of the library's collection
- Assisting patrons in locating and using resources, both physical and electronic
- Providing research assistance to students and faculty, including instruction on database use and search strategies
- Managing circulation services, including checking books in and out, collecting fees, and processing holds
- Maintaining a clean and organized library space
- Staying informed about current trends in library science and implementing new technologies or practices when appropriate

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Familiarity with library databases, cataloging systems, and other technological tools used in libraries
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Salary:
This is a contract job with a salary of 1500$ per month. Accommodation will be provided for the duration of the contract.
