Preservation Architect
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong understanding of historical preservation principles and techniques, as well as a passion for preserving and restoring buildings of cultural significance. They will be responsible for conducting site surveys, preparing preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects in the city of Kolding. The candidate must have a degree in Architecture and at least 2 years of experience working on historic preservation projects. This position is suitable for both men and women with a valid work permit in Denmark. Salary is competitive at 1000$ per week.
As a Preservation Architect, you will be expected to use your expertise in architectural design to preserve and restore historic buildings in Kolding. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that all restoration projects are carried out according to historical preservation standards. This may involve researching the history of a building, analyzing its materials and structure, and creating detailed reports on its condition.
Your responsibilities will include conducting on-site surveys to assess the condition of historic structures, preparing detailed preservation plans that outline the scope of work required for each project, and ensuring that all work is carried out according to approved plans. You may also be responsible for obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities.
As part of your role, you will collaborate with contractors and tradespeople to ensure that all restoration work is completed with precision and attention to detail. You may also oversee the installation of new materials or features while ensuring they are historically accurate.
The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent communication skills as they will be required to communicate effectively with clients, team members, local authorities, and other stakeholders involved in the restoration process. They must also have strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
This role requires a degree in Architecture or relevant field from an accredited university or college. Previous experience working on historic preservation projects is essential, along with a strong understanding of preservation principles, techniques, and materials.
