Preservation Architect
We are seeking a highly skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Alta, Norway. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and monuments. Your main duties will include conducting site surveys, creating preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in historic preservation
- Strong knowledge of preservation principles and techniques
- Excellent design and drafting skills
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong project management skills
Responsibilities:
- Conducting site surveys to assess the condition of historic buildings and monuments
- Creating preservation plans that outline necessary repairs or alterations while preserving the building's historical integrity
- Preparing detailed drawings, models, and specifications for restoration projects
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the successful completion of restoration projects
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities
- Regularly inspecting ongoing restoration work to ensure compliance with plans
- Maintaining accurate records throughout all stages of the preservation process
- Staying up-to-date with current trends, techniques, and materials in historic preservation
Salary: $1600/month (negotiable based on experience)
This is a full-time position that includes accommodation. Candidates must have a valid biometric passport.
