Sous Chef
A high-end restaurant in Lisbon is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to create and execute delicious and visually appealing dishes. You will also be responsible for managing the kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a fine dining establishment
- Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A passion for creating innovative and high-quality dishes
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and current food trends
- Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure they are following recipes properly
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction
- Maintain inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and monitor food costs
- Train new staff members on proper cooking techniques, sanitation procedures, and safety protocols
- Adhere to all food safety regulations including proper storage, labeling, cooking temperatures, etc.
- Assist with scheduling kitchen staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during peak business hours
- Take an active role in keeping the kitchen clean and organized at all times
Salary: $1000 per month
Location: Lisbon
