Sous Chef
We are a renowned restaurant in Nairobi seeking an experienced and creative Sous Chef to join our team. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and managing kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create innovative and delicious menus
- Oversee food preparation and cooking to ensure high quality and consistency
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food safety standards
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist in budgeting and cost control measures
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant
- Passion for creating unique dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English
Salary: $1200 per month. This is a full-time position, 6 days per week. Only English speaking candidates will be considered. We welcome applicants from all nationalities.
