Entry-Level Librarian

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to kickstart their career as an Entry-Level Librarian in the vibrant city of Alta. Our library is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual with a strong affinity for books and knowledge, who is eager to learn and grow in their profession. As an Entry-Level Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting patrons with finding resources, organizing and maintaining the library's collection, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires someone with excellent communication skills, as you will be collaborating with other librarians and interacting with library visitors on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons in locating materials and resources
- Organize, catalog, and maintain library materials
- Provide reader advisory services to patrons
- Create displays and promote library events
- Handle circulation duties such as checking in/out materials and collecting fines
- Participate in collection development by recommending new books or resources
- Assist with technology services such as troubleshooting computers or assisting patrons with online resources
- Collaborate with other librarians on projects or initiatives
- Stay updated on current trends in literature and technology

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer service experience
- Familiarity with library systems and technology
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Enthusiasm for learning and staying updated on industry trends

Salary: $1500 per month

Location: Alta, Norway
