QA Engineer - Svalbard Contract Position



We are in need of a highly skilled QA Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in the beautiful city of Svalbard. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products through manual and automated testing. You will work closely with developers and product owners to identify and report any issues, as well as participate in the development process to prevent defects from occurring.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct manual and automated testing on software products to ensure functionality, usability, and performance meet requirements
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Collaborate with development team to identify and resolve defects
- Communicate any issues found during testing to the appropriate stakeholders
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on potential defects or improvements
- Work with product owners to understand user requirements and provide input on design decisions
- Continuously improve testing processes and procedures

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a QA Engineer or similar role
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience with both manual and automated testing techniques
- Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g. Java, Python)
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- ISTQB certification or equivalent
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)
- Knowledge of SQL databases
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment

Salary: $1600 per month (negotiable based on qualifications)
Location: Svalbard (accommodation provided)
