Smelter Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Smelter Operator to join our team in Eldoret. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the smelting equipment to extract metals from ores or scrap materials. Your duties will include setting up and adjusting the equipment, monitoring the smelting process, and ensuring the quality of the final product. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metallurgy principles, excellent attention to detail, and physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Set up and adjust smelting equipment according to specifications
- Monitor temperature, pressure, and flow levels during the smelting process
- Add chemicals or other materials to control reactions or improve metal quality
- Clean and maintain equipment to ensure efficient operation
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise during the smelting process
- Inspect final product for quality control purposes
- Record production data and maintain accurate records

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Smelter Operator or similar role
- Knowledge of metallurgy principles and processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
