Preservation Architect
We are seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Horsens, Denmark. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving historical buildings and structures, ensuring they are maintained and restored in accordance with conservation principles and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting detailed surveys and assessments of historical buildings to determine their condition and preservation needs
- Developing and implementing preservation plans for buildings and structures, including repairs, restorations, and additions
- Collaborating with construction teams to ensure preservation work is carried out correctly and in accordance with conservation principles and standards
- Conducting research on materials and techniques used in the original construction of historical buildings to inform preservation plans
- Maintaining accurate records of all work carried out on historical buildings, including photographs and written reports
- Providing guidance on the maintenance of historical buildings to property owners and managers
- Staying up-to-date on new developments in preservation techniques and materials
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as an Architect on preservation projects
- Knowledge of conservation principles, standards, and techniques
- Experience conducting surveys and assessments of historical buildings
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, construction teams, and other stakeholders involved in preservation projects
Preferred:
- Experience working with listed or protected historical buildings
- Familiarity with Danish building codes and regulations related to historic preservation
Salary: 1500$ per month (with accommodation)
Location: Horsens, Denmark (accommodation preference for candidates based in Denmark)
