Sous Chef
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team in Lisbon. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen and ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes to our customers. You will also be responsible for managing the kitchen staff, creating new menu items, and maintaining food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Head Chef to plan and prepare menus that meet our customers' preferences and dietary needs
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Train and manage kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety protocols and maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Create new dishes and update existing ones based on seasonality, availability of ingredients, and customer feedback
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
- Collaborate with other departments such as front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of food orders
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene in the kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, recipes, ingredients, and dietary restrictions
- Ability to lead a team effectively and maintain a positive work environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred but not required
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1500 per month.
Location:
This position is based in Lisbon. Portuguese nationality is preferred but not required.
