Library Assistant
Location: Muscat, Oman
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Library Assistant to join our team in Muscat. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the library collection, assisting patrons with finding resources, and managing the circulation of materials. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1200$. No prior experience is required, making it an excellent opportunity for students looking for part-time work.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain library materials, including shelving books and cataloging new items
- Assist patrons with locating and checking out materials
- Provide basic reference services and answer questions from library users
- Maintain accurate records of library circulation and collect fines/fees as needed
- Process inter-library loans and transfers of materials to other libraries
- Assist with library events and programs as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (currently enrolled students are welcome)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a library or customer service environment
- Knowledge of library systems and procedures
- Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written)
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with a salary of 1200$ per month. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. However, occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required for special events or projects.
