Sous Chef - Indian Cuisine
We are a well-established restaurant in Ar-Ruwais seeking a talented Sous Chef with experience in Indian cuisine. As the Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring high quality and consistency in all dishes. You will also be responsible for training and supervising kitchen staff, maintaining inventory and ordering supplies, and creating new menu items.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes according to our restaurant's standards
- Assist the Head Chef in creating new menu items and specials
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques and food safety procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role, with expertise in Indian cuisine
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi is a plus)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train others
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Salary: $1400/month (negotiable based on experience)
