Librarian - Al Buraymi, Oman
We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team in Al Buraymi, Oman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, providing research assistance to patrons, and promoting literacy and library resources within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library collection by cataloging and classifying materials according to accepted standards.
- Assist patrons with research needs by locating and retrieving information from various sources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community members to promote library resources and services.
- Plan and execute engaging events and programs, such as book clubs and author talks, to promote literacy.
- Maintain the physical appearance of the library by shelving materials, organizing displays, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Train and supervise library staff members in daily operations and customer service skills.
- Keep up-to-date with new trends in library technology and implement them into the library's operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian.
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems, reference tools, and research techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
- Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
Benefits:
This is a full time position with a competitive salary of $1100 per month. We also offer visa sponsorship for qualified candidates. This is an urgent position so candidates who can join immediately are preferred.
