Petroleum Engineer - Reservoir Simulation Specialist
As a Petroleum Engineer- Reservoir Simulation Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data related to oil and gas reserves, developing and implementing reservoir simulation models, and providing recommendations for optimal production strategies. You will also collaborate with other engineers and geoscientists to evaluate new drilling locations and assess the potential productivity of existing wells.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in reservoir engineering, with experience in reservoir simulation software such as Eclipse or CMG. You should also have a thorough understanding of petroleum geology, fluid flow behavior, and production forecasting methods.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze data from well tests, production logs, and other sources to determine the characteristics of oil and gas reservoirs
- Develop numerical models to simulate fluid flow within reservoirs and predict future production behavior
- Perform sensitivity analyses on various parameters to optimize field development plans
- Collaborate with geoscientists to integrate geological data into simulation models
- Monitor production performance of existing wells and recommend actions to improve productivity
- Evaluate new drilling locations using geological data and previous well results
- Communicate results and recommendations to management, technical teams, and stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in reservoir engineering
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in reservoir engineering with a focus on simulation modeling
- Experience working with reservoir simulation software (Eclipse or CMG)
- Strong knowledge of petroleum geology principles
- Familiarity with fluid flow behavior in porous media
- Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and make accurate predictions based on various parameters
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders
Location:
This position is based in Lusail, Qatar. Candidates from India or other English-speaking countries are preferred.
Salary:
