Part-time Librarian

We are hiring a part-time librarian to join our library in Al Buraymi, Oman. As a librarian, you will be responsible for organizing and managing the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. Your main duty will be to assist patrons in finding information and resources they need for their research or personal interest.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and classify books, periodicals, and other materials according to the library's cataloging system.
- Assist patrons in locating materials and provide guidance on how to use the library's resources efficiently.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of borrowed and returned items.
- Keep the library clean, tidy, and well-maintained at all times.
- Process new arrivals by adding them to the library's database and placing them on shelves.
- Answer reference questions from patrons using various sources such as databases, internet resources, and reference books.
- Plan and implement events such as book clubs, author visits, or educational programs for children.
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new services or improve existing ones.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and classification methods.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service mindset.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.

Salary:
The salary for this part-time position is 1600$ per month.

Location:
This job is located in Al Buraymi, Oman.

Working Hours:
This is a part-time position that requires working 4 hours per day on weekdays. The exact working schedule will be discussed during the interview.
