Head Chef
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen and ensuring the highest quality of food and service is provided to our customers. You will lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff, creating menus, developing recipes, and maintaining food quality standards. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs to ensure profitability. As a key member of our team, you will uphold our company's values and culture while providing leadership and guidance to your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, presentation, and service
- Create innovative menus that reflect current food trends and cater to our customer base
- Develop new recipes while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Train and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques, food safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Maintain high levels of food quality by regularly inspecting ingredients and dishes for taste, appearance, and temperature
- Manage inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks and ordering supplies as needed
- Control costs by minimizing waste, monitoring portion sizes, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising on quality
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations across all areas of the restaurant
- Ensure compliance with health codes, safety regulations, and company policies at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques with a focus on Indian cuisine
- Ability to create menus that cater to different dietary restrictions or preferences
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Understanding of health codes, safety regulations, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
