Executive Chef
A luxury hotel in the historic city of Nizwa is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team. As the head of our culinary department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and a proven track record in the culinary industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain high-quality menus that reflect local flavors and international cuisine
- Oversee all food preparation and ensure consistency in taste and presentation
- Manage inventory and ordering to maintain a well-stocked kitchen
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to food safety standards
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events and cater to guest requests
- Monitor food costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and incorporate new techniques or ingredients into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
- Knowledge of international cuisine and ability to adapt to local tastes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
