INTERN: St Elizabeth Catholic General Hospital Shisong

Volunteered as an intern in the main laboratory.
I learnt how to use effectively a microscope to analyse specimens how to perform a BAAR test using a microscope.
I learnt how to use biochemistry machine to perform some biochemistry test as (creatinine, Urea, potassium, etc.).
I learnt how to use foul blood count machine to count the various cells in the system and found abnormality and give the blood picture of the patient.
I also learnt how to prepared culture media and how to inoculate sample as pus, blood, csf, urine, and even stool
I got to work in close collaboration with the head of the HIV and Tuberculosis treatment center where I learned to know how to sputum sample to perform tuberculosis test.
INTERN: Bafut District Hospital Bamenda (13th July to 29th August 2016)
I worked as an intern and improved my skills on performing CD4 tests and collecting viral load samples.
• I did phlebotomy,
• I learnt how to biochemistry machine to run some test as (calcium, urea, creatinine, glucose and some other biochemistry test)
• Did an academic internship at the Ndop District Hospital, Bamenda 10 July to the 28 August.
