• Dealing with general shipboard enquiries • Resolving passenger complaints • Accepting and documenting passenger suggestions • Requests for cakes orders, gift orders etc. • Providing a cash handling service at Reception which includes foreign currency exchange (when required) • The selling of postage stamps at reception • Producing invoices during auctions • Posting of charges after auction completed. • Appearance and tidiness of the Reception Desk, the allocation of safe deposit boxes (if applicable), • The recording and receiving of lost property and the general appearance of the passenger notice boards in the Reception area. • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant revenue / cost control systems appertaining to passenger service are effectively followed at all times. • This includes the billing of laundry and other services, the collection of revenue via passenger accounts, the registering of passenger credit cards or other payment methods, the accurate settlement of accounts outside of express check out procedures, the balancing of a float. • Will attend regular meetings with the Assistant Front of House Manager and other Administration personnel • Will comply with all applicable International and Domestic / EU lawsWand regulations which may govern voyages and ports of call. • Will adhere to the following: Fleet Instructions, Hotel Standing Orders, Captain’s Standing Orders, Executive Purser’s Standing Orders, all Operational Procedures and Standards Manuals relating to the operation of the Reception Desk and Art Track operation, the Food Safety Policy, HR Policies and Procedures, all Financial, Auditing and Purchasing Procedures. • Will comply with Company security procedures and security of Company and Hotel Services and Entertainment resources. • Will effectively handle all passenger complaints, by following up all relevant lines of enquiry, liaising with all parties concerned in order to ensure that the complaints are effectively resolved prior to a passenger disembarking. • Will provide a range of Reception Desk services to passengers. • Will provide an administration support service to the Administration Back Office when required. • Will carry out general and administrative duties related to Reception Desk. • Will undertake all relevant Shipboard Accounting procedures in relation to Reception Desk and Art Track services. • Will ensure that revenue and cost control systems are efficiently run and in accordance with P&O Accounting Procedures. • Will carry out the Emergency Response role applicable to this position in a safe and efficient manner. • Is expected to portray both professionally and socially (when required) the company standard of behaviour which incorporates impeccable conduct and outstanding personal appearance. • Is responsible for ensuring a comprehensive briefing and efficient handover to the incoming Passenger Services Assistant.
