During my time as a Nurse Assistant, I had the opportunity to work closely with registered nurses and healthcare professionals in providing compassionate, hands-on care to patients. My responsibilities included:
Assisting patients with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, and dressing.
Monitoring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and reporting any abnormalities.
Helping with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure patient comfort and safety.
Maintaining clean and sanitary environments, including changing bed linens and disinfecting equipment.
Offering emotional support to patients and their families, especially during stressful or uncertain times.
Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure individualized care plans were followed.
This role strengthened my communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. It also deepened my understanding of patient-centered care and the importance of empathy in healthcare settings.
