I’m Jeevan George, currently working as an IT Service Desk Analyst for the
University of Exeter. I’ve been working for the University for over a year now. My
career began during the period of my bachelor’s degree as a Web Developer, where
I honed my skills in creating and maintaining web applications, mastering both
frontend and back-end technologies. This experience laid a strong technical
foundation that I later leveraged in my transition to cybersecurity.
Transitioning into the role of an Incident Response Analyst, I have gained extensive
experience in managing and mitigating security incidents. My proficiency with SIEM
(Security Information and Event Management) tools has been central to my role,
allowing me to efficiently monitor, detect, and respond to security threats. I have
worked primarily on handling and resolving security incidents, collaborating closely
with my team to ensure swift and effective incident management.
Driven by a deep curiosity in the cyber field, I pursued and obtained a master’s
degree in Cybersecurity, which further expanded my knowledge and expertise. I
bring a detail-oriented mindset and proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, and
Tableau, as well as experience working with ERP systems. My ability to interpret
complex datasets and present insights to both technical and non-technical
stakeholders has been key to driving data-informed decisions. Additionally, I have
gained hands-on experience with a variety of cybersecurity tools, enhancing my
ability to protect and secure digital assets. I have gained experience in Basic
Networking (DNS, TCP/IP) as well as Bash skills.
Throughout my career, I have been a dedicated team player, always eager to share
knowledge and collaborate with colleagues. My continuous pursuit of learning has
enabled me to develop a diverse skill set, positioning me as a well-rounded
