Experience:
Nurse 1 Cagayan Valley Medical Center
Performs direct nursing care procedures which include bedside nursing, hygiene, pre and post-operative nursing care, as well of admission and discharge duties.
Administers medication.
Prepares patients for, and assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for both normal and specialized treatment cases. Operates diagnostic machines.
Maintains record reflecting patient condition, medication and treatment. Coordinates with other sections in the hospital regarding patient care.
Assists in the education and rehabilitation of patients and their families in relation to physical and mental health.
Set ups treatment trays, prepares instruments and equipment, and ensured adequate medical or hospital supplies and availability of proper equipment and instruments.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
Staff Nurse Cardinal Santos Medical Center
1.Prepares a well-planned assignment for the nursing staff and sets short-term goals for the unit.
2.The incoming Charge Nurse receives comprehensive "hand-over report" from the outgoing Charge Nurse.
3.The outgoing Charge Nurse makes final rounds in preparation for the "hand-over report".
4.Assesses the readiness of the unit to cope with emergencies: staff, equipment and supplies.
5.Supervise the nursing care given and the administration of medications and treatments to patients by the nursing staff.
6.Monitors the timely accomplishment of patient care activities and other activities of the unit, utilizing the CN worksheet.
7.Carries out doctors' orders and monitors its timely implementation by the nursing staff. Receives telephone orders from the Attending Physician.
8.Makes referrals to doctors and other health care team members.
9.Provides for the assistance needed by doctors and other professional staff and coordinates with them in meeting patient's needs.
10.Ensures that there is sufficient supply of drugs and IV fluids for patient's use at all times.
11.Monitors the daily checking of inventory of the E-Cart and supplies.
12.Maintains the safety and security of regulated drugs.
13.Monitors that equipment are functioning and ready for use anytime.
14.Prepares job orders for equipment needing repair or replacement.
15.Coordinates with the housekeeper on duty for maintenance of environmental sanitation and terminal disinfection.
16.Informs the Dietary, Linen/Laundry Departments and other departments concerned for proper disposition of patients with communicable diseases.
17.Assists the Training Officer in the unit orientation of new personnel.
18.Does mid-shift rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality of service rendered by the team members.
19.Reviews documentation on patient's chart for completeness and accuracy.
20.Welcomes patients brought to the unit from other areas.
21.Conducts post-duty conference with team members as needed.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
