Heavy Equipment/Machine Operator

Experience:
I am an experienced professional with a strong track record in entrepreneurship, international logistics, and operational management.
From 2018 to 2026, I founded and directed Salute Bio Waste MGT LTD in Kenya. I built the company from startup, producing and selling charcoal briquettes made from bio waste, and successfully grew it into an established small business over approximately seven years. I led a small team, managed day-to-day production, sales, and operations, while developing independent business management, planning, and problem-solving skills. I am now winding down my day-to-day involvement to return to plant operation full-time.
Previously, I worked as a Cargo Handler with Transguard Group L.L.C in Dubai, UAE (July 2014 – July 2018). In this role, I received, segregated, counted, and tracked cargo from arriving flights, weighed and tagged items, and ensured Unit Load Devices were forwarded to departing flights on schedule. I assembled and consolidated cargo for shared destinations while maintaining strict safety and time standards in a fast-paced, physically demanding logistics environment. I relocated internationally for this four-year position.
Earlier, I served as Supply and Distribution Agent at Alfastar Industries in Kenya (2012–2013), where I drove the company delivery van for goods distribution and supported general office and supply-chain errands. I also gained initial experience as a News Reporter (Attachment) at Radio Amani Kenya (2011–2012), gathering field news, conducting interviews, recording voice-overs, and coordinating with the studio team for broadcast.
This diverse background has equipped me with reliability, initiative, and the ability to manage responsibility effectively.
Education:
Education
I hold a solid academic foundation that supports my technical and operational expertise.
In 2014, I completed a Certificate in Freight Aviation Logistics at Emirates Aviation College in Dubai, UAE. This programme equipped me with specialised knowledge in cargo handling, dangerous goods (Categories 7, 8 & 10 – IATA), special load and ramp handling, and Emirates SkyCargo operations, directly enhancing my four-year international cargo handling career.
Earlier, I earned a Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies (2010–2012) from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), Bournemouth, England. The qualification developed my skills in news gathering, interviewing, writing, and broadcast presentation, which I applied during my attachment as a News Reporter at Radio Amani Kenya.
I also hold a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (2006–2009), completing my secondary schooling successfully.
In addition to formal education, I have pursued recent professional development through online learning. In 2026, I completed the Learn SQL Course on Codecademy. In 2024, I finished the Virtual Assistance Skills in the Digital Age (10-week programme) and AI Career Essentials (6-week program through ALX, earning certificates of achievement in both.
This combination of technical, logistical, media, and modern digital skills complements my certified plant operation training and hands-on experience.
