1. Postdoctoral Researcher (May 2025-present) I continued my postdoctoral research experience by joining the Center of Refining and Advanced Chemicals of King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). This university is ranked among the top 100 universities worldwide according to the recent QS World University Rankings system. I am working on the electrocatalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-difurancarboxylic acid using S-doped graphitic carbon nitride with cobalt ferrite. Furthermore, I am also developing a setup for the piezo-photocatalytic and electrocatalytic water splitting for green hydrogen production. 2. Postdoctoral Researcher (Jun 2023- May 2025) I accomplished two years of postdoctoral research in the microreactor process intensification research group in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. This university has ranked among the top 50 universities according to the recent QS World Universities ranking system. I synthesized a heterogeneous porphyrin-based photocatalyst using a polymeric support and applied it for juglone synthesis under visible light irradiation. Furthermore, I developed a customized PFA capillary-based flow photoreactor for aerobic photooxidative coupling of hydroquinone and 4-chlorophenylacetylene to 4-hydroxy-4-chlorobenzophenone under visible light irradiation. In collaboration, I worked on the flexible operation of zinc-iodine flow batteries, which mainly includes the prohibition of the shuttling effect and dendrite growth formation. 3. University Lecturer (Jan 2017- Sep 2019) I joined the chemical engineering department of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore as a Lecturer. My main responsibilities include designing courses and teaching core chemical engineering subjects such as chemical reaction engineering, process modeling and simulations, separation processes, and so on. As a team, we successfully implemented an outcome-based education system in the chemical engineering department and synchronized all core and applied courses with cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains of Bloom's taxonomy system. 4. Operation Engineer (Aug 2008- Jun 2014) I started my engineering career as an operation engineer in one of the largest urea fertilizer complexes in Pakistan i.e. Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited. These practical skills proved to be quite fantastic and beneficial to understanding the complex reaction and separation processes of chemical engineering. As a shift team leader, I led from the front and was actively involved in various troubleshooting, plant start-up, shutdown, and turnaround activities. Furthermore, the installation of a new Vibropriller to improve the quality of urea Prills, the upgradation of the plant emergency shutdown (ESD) system, and the rectification of urea-stripper channeling problem due to liquid film disturbance were remarkable endeavors during this period.

1. Doctorate in Chemical Engineering (Sep 2019-Jun2023) I accomplished Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering and technology from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. This university has ranked among the top 50 universities according to the recent QS World Universities ranking system. My research domains are CO2 absorption using microstructured reactors and natural drug synthesis via singlet oxygen-mediated photochemical transformation. My collaborative research includes heterogeneous catalysis and nanocomposite materials synthesis, characterization, and applications to eliminate various stringent and toxic pollutants from water. 2. Master’s in Chemical Engineering (Jun 2014-Sep 2016) I completed an exclusively research-based master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Center of Advance Process Safety (CAPS) of the University Technology Petronas, Malaysia. This university subject-wise (chemical engineering) has globally ranked among the top 100 universities according to the recent QS World Universities ranking system. CAPS is affiliated with Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center, Texas A&M University, USA, and provides consultancy to a number of industries. My master's research work was composed of an inherently safer design of heat exchanger network at the preliminary design stage, with specific consideration on explosion as the worst-case scenario. 3. Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering (Sep 2004-Jul 2008) I got a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with honors from the chemical engineering department of the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan with outstanding grades in core chemical engineering courses such as mass transfer, heat transfer, chemical reaction engineering, and secured a position among the top five students.

 My current English level is C1, with an overall band score of 7.0 in the IELTS Academic test. Urdu is my native language, but I can speak Chinese and Malaysian at the beginner level.  Use of machine learning for predictive modelling. I have accomplished online course on machine learning from Coursera (https://coursera.org/verify/NN98PYKL9Q8K)  Proficient in using DFT simulations software such as Gaussian, CASTEP, Dmol3, and VASP to examine optical and electronic properties of materials and investigate reaction mechanisms.  Proficient enough to perform various Characterizations using Gas chromatography, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, High-pressure liquid chromatography, scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Nuclear magnetic resonance, Vacuum dryer, and UV absorption spectrometry  Outstanding skills in fabricating homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalysts, and a photocatalytic and electrocatalytic set-up for scaling-up and high-throughput applications  Competent in applying various MATLAB tools for data fitting, statistical analysis, mass transfer, and kinetics modeling  Good expertise in designing 3D models on SolidWorks and CAD, and using these models to perform CFD simulation using Ansys and COMSOL  Competent enough to use the Python Programming language for programming and data analysis
