Accounts Officer ▪ 01 October, 2014 - Current Kenya High Commission ▪ Plot 3 Upper Kololo • Controls the Mission’s ledger accounts. • Handles bank reconciliation to ascertain accuracy of the month-end transactions in the bank against payment vouchers and receipts. • Prepares payment and receipt vouchers for all the Mission’s expenses and receipts for easy accountability of the Mission’s finances. • Prepares reports and financial statements for management and submission for accountability. • Manages payroll processing and changes for the Mission’s employees. • File the Mission’s monthly VAT refund claims and claims for individual diplomats. • Actions managerial feedback quickly to achieve the desired performance goals. • Carries out detailed reviews of the Mission’s payment documents, vote book accounts and bookkeeping records to verify compliance with standards. • Process Monthly Salaries and Weekly Payroll • Assist with annual budgeting process. • Monitor Controls in Accounts Department • Compiles current financial information and forecasts for use in budgetary decision-making. • Provides expert knowledge on all finance and information technology queries to the mission’s staff. • Handles the Mission’s payments including bills ,requests and expenses to help facilitate timely payments. • Examines financial records and statements for signs of numerical discrepancies. • Produce accurate financial reports for internal use and regulatory submissions. • Develop actionable improvements for existing internal control measures to facilitate smooth monitoring of the Mission’s resource use and improve accountability of the resources. • Prepares and records daily financial documents for payment ,bank reconciliations and end of the month accountability. • Collaborate with procurement department to reconcile supplier invoices and facilitate payments. • Handles the Mission’s general IT inquiries.
