Academic Tutor - Lebanese American University Due to my academic excellence at university, I worked as an academic tutor and assisted over 15 undergraduate students from the Lebanese American University in various civil engineering and mathematics courses. Some of the courses I taught include Civil Engineering Management Fundamentals, Construction Planning & Scheduling, Engineering Economy, MATLAB Programming Language, Calculus III, Highway Engineering, Hydraulics, Mechanics of Materials, Concrete Structures, and Stress Analysis. Research Assistant - Lebanese American University The focus of our research was to investigate social, behavioral, and cognitive factors related to transportation engineering and driver psychology/behavior mostly within the Lebanese context. During this research, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team consisting of students and professionals of various backgrounds. With the team, I assisted in the formation and delivery of surveys, expanding the outreach to over 160 participants. After testing a sample of Lebanese drivers on the state-of-the-art lab facility driving simulator, I aided in collecting data, analyzing output from surveys, and assessing the overall driver’s performance. In addition, I was responsible of conducting literature searches, specifically related to driver’s behavior in yellow interval at signalized intersections. I also examined possible engineering solutions that could be administered to enhance traffic safety and pedestrian crossings at intersections. This project strengthened my quantitative skills, time management abilities, and discipline - all key elements needed to thrive in challenging professional and academic landscapes. Faculty Assistant - Lebanese American University I worked as a faculty assistant to my civil engineering professor at the Lebanese American University. I was primarily responsible for providing a wide range of administrative duties including but not limited to: -Scheduling appointments -Updating file records and documents for the department -Coordinating events such as conferences and seminars -Supporting faculty in exam scheduling Structural Engineering Intern - Erga Progress Engineering Consultants, Dubai UAE Throughout this training period, I completed the full structural design of a G+1+R proposed private residential villa in Nad El Sheba, Dubai. I spearheaded the drafting of structural layouts of the different floors on AutoCAD and modeled the entire villa on ETABS. I was mainly entrusted to complete a series of senior level engineering tasks including: - Manual in-depth calculation of the loads and stresses on the different structural members - Full design of the reinforced concrete columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, and staircase - Partial design of a pool deck, gym, and car park for an existing villa in Al Satwa In addition, I attended weekly conferences and meetings held by professionals and assisted lab technicians with structural component testing.
