Experience:
Execl eye center,Otukpo,Benue State,Nigeria: I did my compulsory one year internship training as a graduate of Optometry ( 2012 - 2013).
Irrua specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo state, Nigeria: I did my compulsory National Youth service as a corper,for one year.where I practice optometry in a bigger hospital training, with occasional outreaches to the communities. Knowledge on clinical pathology and Instrumentation was widened, during this period. (2013- 2014).
Federal Medical Centre,Birnin Kebbi,Kebbi State,Nigeria: I have worked in this facility from 2015 till date.Currently a senior optometrist with vast knowledge in optometry.
Education:
Abia state University-Uturu: Doctor of Optometry (OD),degree, ( 2005 - 2011).
Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi,Kebbi State,Nigeria: Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), 2018-2019.
University of Washington: Project Management in Global Health; Certification course, 2019.
Skills:
As a primary eye health care giver,and the first point of call into the Ophthalamic Department, I offer the following services to my patients/clients:
- Primary eye care services such as evaluation of the visual pathway, examination of external eye structures for ocular pathologies.
-Determination of refractive errors and correcting them.
-performing both subjective and objective refraction on all ametropic patients, including patients with asthenopic complaints.
- Contact lens measurements and fitting.
- Dispensing of visual aids even to post cataract patients.
- Low vision counseling.
- Visual training of latent hyperopes,facultative hyperopes,pseudomyopes,accommodative insufficiency and every other accommodative abnormalities.
- Intraocular pressure measurements.
- Removal of non penetrating foreign bodies.
-Ocular first aids and proper and prompt referrals to ophthalmologist and general physician.
- Health education to my patients and interns,as well as any corporate organization that requires health education.
However, I am open to new learning and adaptation to the system of any health facility I work with.

Additionally:
I have teaching experience as well. I have served as an adjunct lecturer, with a school of Optical Dispensing and Technology, affiliated with Federal Medical Center,were I work as an optometrist. Here I handle some optical dispensing and ophthalmic laboratory courses for the student opticians, undergoing a Diploma training in opticianry.
