Electrical assistant
A compliance based servicing company. My daily duties included the inspections, repairs and maintenance
of domestic and commercial properties always adhering to the SANS 10142 code of practices. Electrical in‐
stallations were inspected and repaired to the correct standard to ensure the safety and peace of mind of
our clients. My daily duties include but not limited to: °Assist the company's registered installation electri‐
cian in domestic and commercial electrical installations, identify faults, and record a hypothesis for compli‐
ant repairs on report. °Assist and solve electrical problems via fault finding due to several occurrences such
as nuisance tripping, short circuits, overloads, single phasing etc. Under guidance or working independently.
°Making use of hand and power tools and measuring instruments such as angle grinders, drilling machines,
hacksaw, spirit levels, chalk lines, multi meters, clamp testers, electrical loop impedance testers, insulation
resistance testers etc. °Conduct and fully document site work work by recording electrical faults, photo‐
graphical backup, inspecting all electrical wire ways, junctions, reticulation in roof and under floor spaces.
°Chasing and cutting of concrete walls, slabbing, digging, trenching and laying of electrical tubing(conduit),
cabling(surfex, armoured etc.)in walls and ground. °Installation of socket outlets and lighting fixtures, flush
and surface mounted. °Installation of pool distribution boards, with electrical timers for pump and lighting
use. °Cable repairs and jointing to Ecc armoured, surfex and house wiring cabling, with the use of cable joint
kits, jointing boxes and jointing glands etc. °Replacement of old fuse redundant boxes with new surface or
flush electrical DB boards, switchgear replacement, circuit breakers, isolators, earth leakage installation and
the like. °Installation of accessible Isolators for "out of reach" DB's for safe electrical isolation. °High loop
and earthing repairs
