I have 20 years continuous working experience in ground Transport Operations, after completing a three years training course as a motor vehicle mechanic with D.T Dobie Training School. I joined the company as a mechanic, service advisor, tester and customer care representative respectfully. After separating with the company I joined Care International as workshop mechanic for two and years. After Care International I was offered opportunity to serve as a UN Volunteer with UN Peace keeping Mission in Burundi and Sudan respectfully, In Burundi my duties included the following: maintenance and repairs in workshop, Dispatch supervisor, FVIU unit, COE , Driving assessment and Permit units. In Sudan Darf Mission I performed the following: Regional transport representative, workshop supervisor, Dispatch unit, Driving assessment and permit Issuing, FVIU, Spare Part Stores and COE. My skills include excellent capability to keep organization assets inventory database updated; supervision of staff members who were under my supervision both drivers, mechanics, Individual contractors, timely processing of daily/weekly and monthly reports. Work Experience CARE International in Kenya September 2016 to date Auto Mechanic – Dadaab  Maintain repair UNHCR vehicles and other supporting agencies working In Dadaab refugee’s camps.  Diagnose technical faults and repair as necessary  Request for spares for daily services  Submit daily and weekly reports  Recovery and breakdown services United Nations Volunteers - Darfur Sudan (UNAMID) July 2007 – January 2013 Workshop supervisor, Regional transport representative, Dispatch supervisor R&I at the port of entry. During my tenure in Unamid Mission I was delegated to oversee different units within transport section and in different locations where the mission had offices. I performed my tasks in various units as classified below. Dispatch: I was in charge of Dispatch unit in the mission sector headquarters, I ensured both International and National staffs were picked and dropped from their residence and other picking points in time. I coordinated shuttle services during the day which shuttled between different office locations; I arranged and prepared vehicles for field missions when requested by different sections or units. I coordinated movement of staff travelling to team sites who could not travel by air. Ensured all dispatch vehicles were clean, complete tools and other requirements were functional especially those fitted with communication systems. Monitored all mission vehicle movements using car-log system, generated reports from the system and submitted to the chief Transport for action in case of those found violating rules. Workshop: I was reassigned to lead the workshop for maintenance and repair for UN owned vehicles both heavy and light in accordance with UN standard of operation and the manufactures specifications. Ensured that all relevant safety procedures of the workshop were adhered to, safe usage of workshop equipment and tools. Safely kept and accounted for at all time. Fleet Inventory Unit (FVIU) I was the unit representative in the sector, Initially responsible for all transport assets, which included inventory of Vehicles ,spares, and equipment’s I updated the system as we received both vehicles and spares as we received them from the headquarters. I was responsible for Issuing vehicles to new staffs or section when recommended by vehicle establishing committee and receive from the staff checking out. Driving Assessments: Conducted driving assessments for new staffs and issued them with mission’s authorization driving permit and received permit from staff checking out of mission to disable them from the system. R & I (Receiving and Inspection): I was deployed to the port of entry to mission with other sections ensuring that goods received were corresponding with the packing list of procurement specifications .After confirmation of inspections team goods were packed transported by road to Mission headquarters. I supervised and coordinated with Movcon. Transport representative to COE (Contingent Owned Equipment) Represent transport section during annually Inspection of military equipment and their preparedness coordinated all military requirement, and road transport for sections /units requiring service transport by road. United Nations Volunteers Burundi (ONUB) February 2004 – June 2007 Vehicle Technician, Dispatch supervisor –Bujumbura, Burundi During my working period in the mission, I mainly performed my duties in three units within transport section. The three units were as below, Workshop Assigned work orders to workshop technicians Carry out test drive before and after repairs Assist auto Mechanic in trouble shooting.’ Closes work orders when vehicle has been certified after repairs. Dispatch The unit was in charge and responsible for the movement of mission from their residence to the office and back. Support all requests from all the sections which needed transport of personnel or goods. Ensured that all vehicles assigned to dispatch were clean and kept safe. Prepared and arranged trips to region and sector offices. Driving Assessments/ Permit: Conducted driving Assessment for new arrivals and I sued them with mission authorization with mission permit Generated reports from car-log system CARE International in Kenya April 2000 – December 2003- Vehicle Technician During the mentioned period in the organization I performed the following duties. Maintained and repair UNHCR vehicles and other implementing agencies operating in the refugees camps Diagnose faults and repair or replace parts as necessary Request spare parts for daily service and repairs Submit daily and weekly reports Recovery and breakdown services D.T Dobie & Company LTD January 1990-September 1997 -Vehicle Mechanic, Service Advisor, Tester During my stay in the company through promotions I performed the following duties. Workshop Mechanic Repaired customer vehicles in the floor, Overhauls engines and other units, Suspensions and general vehicle system. Carried out general performance diagnosis Service Advisor Worked as service advisor and customer care after sales and service whereby I contacted the customers after they have both a vehicle try to find out how the vehicle was doing .If there was any concern for new vehicles they could recalled and attention was given to the complaint. Through this program the company wanted customer satisfied to have confident of the product they selling. Tester I performed the above duty after customer vehicle had undergone service in the workshop and repairs. This is where I had direct communication with customer, after road test I was to advise the customer the technical condition of his vehicle.
