• Responsible for the day to day management and run of the Outpatients Department, ensuring the efficient and effective use of all resources in order to deliver high quality, safe and effective patient care in an environment of continuous improvement. Set and maintain high standards of care and be accountable for auditing and monitoring the quality of care. In conjunction with the Outpatient Lead being responsible for the day to day run and supervision of our department team, effectively motivating and directing staff to ensure that the time and resources are managed through effective teamwork. Ensuring that staff have clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities, the standards of performance and conduct expected of them.
• Organizing the nursing and healthcare team on a daily basis, allocates staff according to their skills and experience. Ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, tidiness are maintained throughout the Outpatients Department and environmental standards are adhered to. Promoting effective communication with external agencies to facilitate ongoing patient care.
• Assisting the Outpatient Department that all the times the team work in a safe and responsible manner by demonstrating knowledge and understanding of all Trust Health and Safety policies. Adhering at all times to the NMC Code of Professional of Practice and Behavior for Nurses and Midwives. Ensuring that all patients have their needs assessed, that programs of care are developed to meet these needs and are delivered in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
• Maintain collaborative working relationship and effective communications between all members of the multidisciplinary team, resolving conflicts and working within the team to ensure a high standard of coordinating patient care. In conjunction with the Outpatients Lead, identify the training and educational needs for all staff, contributing to the development and provision of the early training plan and educational training programs and opportunities.
• Experience in delivering effective leadership and management skills.
• Experience of Clinical governance and audit process, COSHH/Medicine Management.
