Metal Fabricator
As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for creating and repairing metal products using specialized tools and techniques. You will work with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and copper, to fabricate products such as doors, frames, and staircases. Your duties may include cutting, bending, welding, and shaping metal pieces according to blueprints or specifications. You will also be responsible for inspecting finished products for quality assurance and making necessary adjustments or repairs. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in metal fabrication is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints or specifications to determine project requirements
- Measure and mark dimensions on metal sheets or bars
- Cut, bend, shape, and weld metal pieces using specialized tools
- Assemble fabricated pieces according to project plans
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and make necessary adjustments or repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols while working with heavy machinery
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in metal fabrication preferred
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Strong knowledge of various welding techniques (MIG/TIG)
- Ability to operate machinery such as shears, saws, drills, and grinders
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects
- Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Salary: $1100 per month
Location: Wiltz (or other city in Canada)
