Job Title: Contract Librarian in Bergen



Position Overview:

We are searching for a knowledgeable and experienced Librarian to join our team on a contract basis in Bergen. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for the management and organization of our library collection, as well as providing assistance to patrons. This position requires previous experience as a librarian and is open to candidates of all nationalities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and organize the library collection, including categorizing and shelving books, magazines, and other materials
- Assist patrons with finding and checking out materials, answering reference questions, and providing general information about the library
- Develop and implement library programs, events, and workshops for all age groups
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and circulation statistics
- Collaborate with other librarians to evaluate and update library policies and procedures
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technology advancements, and new developments in the field of librarianship
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers as needed
- Promote library resources through outreach activities such as school visits or community events

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to categorize and maintain large collections efficiently
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages
- Proficient in using library software systems and technology tools such as online databases or e-readers
- Knowledge of cataloging standards such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification systems
- Familiarity with current trends in libraries including digital resources, maker spaces, or community engagement initiatives
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

As a Contract Librarian at our Bergen location, you will receive a salary of $1500 per month.
