Interpreter/Translator for Pakistani Community in Shan



We are looking for a skilled Interpreter/Translator to join our team in Shan, providing language services to the Pakistani community in the area. As an Interpreter/Translator, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between English and Urdu/Punjabi-speaking individuals, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation and translation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conducting face-to-face interpretation sessions between English and Urdu/Punjabi-speaking individuals in various settings, including meetings, appointments, and events.
- Providing written translation services for documents such as reports, legal forms, and correspondence.
- Ensuring accurate interpretation of technical or specialized terminology.
- Adhering to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Building rapport with clients to establish trust and facilitate communication.
- Keeping up-to-date with cultural customs and practices of both English and Pakistani communities.
- Collaborating with other interpreters/translators when necessary.

Requirements:

- Fluency in both English and Urdu/Punjabi, both spoken and written.
- Proven experience as an interpreter/translator in a professional setting.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening skills.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity towards diverse groups of people.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility with working hours to accommodate clients' schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Translation/Interpretation or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Certification from a recognized interpreting/translating organization is preferred but not required.

Salary: 1200$

Location: Shan (with accommodation)

Visa Type: Free Work Visa provided
