Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team in Mombasa. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding accounts receivable from our clients. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to negotiate effectively, and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:
- Contact clients via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding payments
- Negotiate payment plans and settlements with clients who are unable to pay in full
- Update client records and maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities
- Monitor payment agreements to ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to client inquiries and concerns
- Identify delinquent accounts and escalate to management when necessary
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes

Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in collections or a related field
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Salary: $900 per month

Location: Mombasa, Kenya (open to foreigners)

Language Requirement: Fluent English (no Swahili required)
