Executive Chef - Malayalee Cuisine (Nairobi, Kenya)



Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef with a passion for Malayalee cuisine to lead our kitchen team in Nairobi, Kenya. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality food standards, creating innovative and authentic Malayalee dishes, and managing kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop menus and recipes for our restaurant that showcase the unique flavors of Malayalee cuisine
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes to ensure they meet quality standards
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new business strategies and promotions
- Stay updated on food trends and make recommendations for menu changes or additions

Requirements:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of Malayalee cuisine, including traditional cooking techniques and ingredients
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff effectively
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Creative mindset with a passion for creating unique dishes that represent the flavors of Kerala, India

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred but not required
- Fluency in English is required
Salary:
$1300 per month
