Entry-Level Librarian
We are hiring an Entry-Level Librarian to join our team at a public library in Sofia, Bulgaria. As a librarian, you will be responsible for assisting patrons with finding and accessing materials, organizing and maintaining the library's collection, and providing reference and research assistance. This is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about books and helping others, and looking to start a career in librarianship.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with finding and accessing materials, including books, magazines, newspapers, and digital resources
- Organize and maintain the library's collection using the Dewey Decimal System
- Process new materials by cataloging, labeling, and shelving them appropriately
- Provide reference services to patrons by answering questions and conducting research on various topics
- Promote library programs and events to increase community engagement
- Assist with basic technology troubleshooting for library equipment
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan and implement programs for children, teens, or adults
- Keep accurate records of library usage statistics and report findings to library staff

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required
- Passion for books and reading
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology as needed
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Bulgarian is a plus)

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is 1600 USD per month.

Location:
This position is located at a public library in Sofia, Bulgaria. Candidates must have their own visa or be willing to obtain one. Accommodation is not provided.
