Pastry Chef - Mombasa, Kenya


We are in search of a skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team in Mombasa, Kenya. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts and pastries for our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry making and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of desserts and pastries according to recipes and quality standards
- Decorate pastries using different techniques to enhance their appearance
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen area
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Develop new dessert items to add to the menu based on customer preferences
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a restaurant setting
- Knowledge of various pastry-making techniques, ingredients, equipment, and tools
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Creative thinking skills with an eye for detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma preferred
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
- Experience with managing inventory levels
- Knowledge of food safety regulations

Salary: $1100 per month
