We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, USA. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's databases to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This is a contract role with potential for extension and visa sponsorship for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain databases for various applications and systems
- Monitor database performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal efficiency
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or errors within the databases
- Develop backup and recovery plans to ensure data protection
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement database changes or upgrades
- Perform regular data maintenance tasks such as data cleaning and archiving
- Develop and maintain database documentation including procedures, policies, and standards

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.
- Experience with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with database security protocols and best practices
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:
- Certification in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Experience with cloud-based databases such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database
