Architectural Preservation Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Preservation Specialist to join our team in Oslo, Norway. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures, ensuring they are maintained for future generations to appreciate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting research and analysis on historic buildings and structures to determine their significance, historical context, and condition
- Developing preservation plans and strategies for the restoration and maintenance of historic buildings and structures
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to carry out preservation projects
- Conducting site visits to monitor progress and ensure preservation work is carried out according to plans
- Providing expert advice on preservation techniques, materials, and technologies
- Preparing reports documenting the condition of historic structures and recommending courses of action for their preservation
- Maintaining accurate records of all preservation activities
Requirements:
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Architecture or Historic Preservation from an accredited university
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural preservation or related field
- Strong knowledge of historic architecture styles, materials, techniques, and codes
- Experience in conducting research on historic buildings and structures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or Revit preferred
