Preservation Architect

As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural principles, as well as knowledge of historical preservation techniques and materials. You will work closely with clients, historians, and engineers to develop preservation plans that meet both aesthetic and structural requirements. You will also oversee the implementation of these plans, ensuring that the historical integrity of the buildings is maintained while also meeting modern safety standards.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on historical buildings and structures
- Develop preservation plans that take into account structural stability, historical significance, and client's needs
- Collaborate with engineers, historians, and other professionals to ensure effective execution of preservation plans
- Monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to preservation guidelines
- Identify potential risks or issues during the restoration process and develop solutions
- Prepare reports and documentation on preservation projects for clients and regulatory agencies
- Stay updated on industry developments in historical preservation techniques and materials

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in historic preservation projects
- Strong understanding of architectural principles and design concepts
- Familiarity with historical preservation techniques and materials
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team
- Attention to detail and ability to think critically to solve problems
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to historic preservation

Location: This position is located in Alta, Norway.

Salary: We offer a competitive salary of $900 per month.

Accommodation: We provide accommodation for employees who do not have their own housing in Alta.
