Metal Worker

A Metal Worker is responsible for shaping, cutting, and joining metal pieces to create a variety of structures and products. They work with a variety of metals including steel, aluminum, and copper to fabricate products such as pipes, beams, and frames. Metal Workers use a range of tools and techniques such as welding, drilling, and grinding to shape and assemble metal components.

Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Measure and mark dimensions on metal pieces using measuring tools
- Cut or shape metal pieces using hand tools or machines
- Join metal pieces using welding or other techniques
- Smooth and polish surfaces of finished products using hand tools or machines
- Inspect finished products for quality control
- Follow safety procedures at all times while working with potentially hazardous materials

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a vocational training program in metalworking preferred
- Previous experience working with metal preferred but not required
- Ability to read blueprints and understand technical drawings
- Proficiency in using hand tools and machines for cutting, shaping, and joining metals
- Good physical stamina as the work may involve lifting heavy objects
- Attention to detail to ensure precision in work
- Strong teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to new projects
