Librarian in Dubai, UAE


We are looking for a Librarian to join our team in Dubai. This person will be responsible for organizing, cataloging, and providing access to our library's collection of books, periodicals, media, and other materials. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and an understanding of library databases and systems.

The successful candidate must have strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with library patrons of all ages. A basic understanding of computer software applications is also required.

Responsibilities include:
- Cataloging and organizing materials according to library standards
- Providing information services to patrons by answering questions or directing them to appropriate resources
- Assisting with collection development by identifying resources for purchase or subscription
- Supervising circulation desk activities such as issuing library cards or checking out materials as needed
- Assisting patrons with using computers and other equipment as needed
- Keeping up with current trends in technology related to libraries
- Participating in outreach services by attending meetings or presenting programs in the community

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, although a bachelor's degree in Library Science is preferred. We are willing to consider candidates with no experience, but they must possess knowledge of library procedures. The salary for this position is 1200 AED per month. We are open to considering foreign candidates as well.
