Job Description:
The Librarian will be responsible for providing information services, reference assistance, and collection maintenance at our library in Dubai. This includes providing library patrons with access to books, periodicals, videos, audio recordings, databases, and other information resources; assisting patrons in locating materials; providing reference services; shelving materials; maintaining accurate records; developing collections; assisting with programming events; participating in outreach efforts; training volunteers as needed; supervising other staff as required; and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
• Provide patrons with timely access to information resources
• Assist patrons with locating materials
• Provide reference services both in-person and remotely
• Maintain accurate records of material usage
• Develop collections that meet the needs of the library’s users
• Assist with programming events such as book clubs or story times
• Train volunteers on computer systems or research techniques as needed
• Supervise other staff members when necessary
• Recommend new materials for purchase based on patron feedback

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (preferred)
• Ability to use computer systems to check out materials, update records, etc.
• Knowledge of library cataloging systems and research techniques
• Excellent customer service skills • Ability to work independently or collaboratively on projects • Experience working in a library environment (preferred) • Fluency in English (preferred)
