We at Al Shamkhah City Library are looking for highly motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as a Librarian. We offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, vacation time, and 401k plans.
As a Librarian in our library, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining the library’s collections, providing reference services to patrons, assisting with public programs such as story times, maintaining the library’s website and social media presence, assisting with library events such as book clubs or author talks, and providing circulation services. You will be required to stay up-to-date on library policies and procedures in order to provide accurate information to patrons. In addition, you may be asked to assist with special projects or take on additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate for this position should have an education background in Library Science with 3 years of experience in a library setting. They should also have excellent customer service skills as well as strong organizational skills. Knowledge of current technology trends is also beneficial. Experience working with immigrants is preferred but not required.
